While competing in China and Japan this week, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner continued their exceptional run of form.

Alcaraz beat Taylor Fritz to win the Japan Open in his first appearance there, while Sinner defended his title at the China Open in Beijing.

The two have now won all eight Grand Slam titles over the last two years, a level of control not seen since the days of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

And considering their current form, it’s hard to see anyone breaking their hold on the Tour any time soon – not even Novak Djokovic.

Alcaraz and Sinner Match Rare Feat Set by Djokovic and Nadal

Alcaraz and Sinner made history this week by becoming the first top-two-ranked ATP players to win titles in different locations during the same week in over five years.

The last time fans saw something similar was back in early 2020 when Rafael Nadal took home the Mexican Open, while Novak Djokovic won the Dubai Championships.

Djokovic lost only one set on his way to that title in the United Arab Emirates, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.

Nadal, meanwhile, didn’t drop a set throughout his run in Mexico, finishing with a straight-sets victory over Taylor Fritz.

2025 Titles: Alcaraz and Sinner Now up to 11 Combined Wins

Is there anyone who can stop Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner heading into the 2026 season? Alcaraz finished the year with eight titles, while Sinner added three more trophies to his growing collection.

Sinner’s run began with a win at the Australian Open, after which Alcaraz took five straight tournaments between February and June, including Roland-Garros and Queen’s Club.

Sinner hit back by beating Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final. But just a month later, Alcaraz got one back by defeating an under-the-weather Sinner in Cincinnati. He followed that up with another win over Sinner in the US Open final.

Their recent wins in Japan and China have only tightened their hold on the tour, and there’s little sign of that changing anytime soon.
