'Disgusting Behaviour': Tomljanovic, Kasatkina & Others Slam Zhang's Opponent

The Budapest Open incident involving Shuai Zhang is getting a lot of attention on social media as many players spoke out about what happened.

Shuai Zhang was facing a native player in Budapest at the WTA 250 event there and she experienced a very unfortunate situation . The Chinese player heavily protested a call from the umpire, a call she thought was wrong.

According to all the available replays, it seems like she was right as the ball did land on the line however the whole situation ultimately resulted in a chain of events that ended with her retiring from the match and leaving the court in tears.

Her opponent Kiara Toth was blasted on social media for celebrating the win and erasing the mark despite pleas from Zhang not to do it. Many current players denounced all of that as they couldn't believe the unsportsmanlike conduct by the youngster against a seasoned veteran who is beloved on the Tour. Quite a few players reacted harshly on social media and we bring you some of those reactions below.

Absolutely disgusting behavior. Shuai is a better person than a lot of us for shaking the ref and that girls hand. But then again it’s Shuai we are talking about, ofc she did.
