Italian tennis player Lorenzo Musetti who is the youngest man in the Adelaide International draw has revealed his New Year resolution for 2024. Musetti has said that he wants to become a good father and that is his aim for this year. As Musetti is expecting his first child with girlfriend Veronica Confalonieri, the 21-year-old is excited about the new role.

After his win over Jordan Thompson in the second round of the ATP 250 tournament, Musetti said that he is excited about becoming a father and also promised that he would become a good one. The Italian said he is hoping to become a great father, in fact.

The main goal for this season is to try and be a nice father because I’m becoming a father soon, in two months. Hopefully, I can be a great father. Lorenzo Musetti said. (H/T: Tennis.com)

Notably, Musetti revealed he was expecting his first child with girlfriend Veronica Confalonieri back in September—later sharing a maternity photoshoot on his Instagram during the off-season.

Lorenzo Musetti also talks about his professional goals for 2024

After talking about his personal goals for 2024, Lorenzo Musetti also revealed what he plans to do with his professional career in the new season. Although the Italian has not started the season as he would have hoped, Musetti wants to reclaim his position in the top 20 in the ATP rankings.

My goal right now is to try and come back to the Top 20, where I stayed all year last year. But at the end of last year, I didn’t get so many results. So, I dropped a little bit. Lorenzo Musetti said.

Notably, the 21-year-old Italian reached as high as No. 15 in June after reaching the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters quarterfinal and the second week of Roland Garros but lost his last six matches of the season to finish outside the Top 20. Musetti finished the season at No.27.

Now, he has started the season with two wins in four matches. While Musetti bowed out of the Hong Kong Open after losing to Pavel Kotov in the second round, the Italian survived till the quarterfinals at the Adelaide International. He got a bye in the first round and beat Jordan Thompson in the second to reach the quarterfinals. However, Musetti lost to Alexander Bublik in a three-setter.
