OBAMA IS THE PRESIDENT!

I just got back in the locker room. We just got the W in Houston, and I had to blog. OBAMA IS THE PRESIDENT! I can't even explain how I feel right now. All I have to say is that we have to repeat, because we have to go back to the White House to meet Obama. I'm glad to see that everyone got out and voted today. I made sure I voted last week before we left for this road trip because I knew how important this election was going to be. Every vote counted! Thanks to everyone that got out and voted today. God Bless America. We did it.

GQ Ball

What's good? I'm in New York right now...getting ready for the game. We play NJ tonight, so I just chilled in my hotel room and watched a lil film. The preseason has been good so far...the new guys are coo. We've all been chillin together-building our team chemistry. I can't wait till the first game now...waiting on that RING! It's crazy how much things have changed in the past couple of months. I've gone to so many different places, and experienced so many different things-the ESPYs and the White House are two that stand out. Last night, I went to another event that I have to add to my list-the GQ Gentleman's Ball. I had a really good time, met a lot of different people, did a lot of networking, and of course I was fly, so that made it even better. Yall know I think I'm the best dressed on the team. I'm just glad to be able to experience all these things just by doing what I love to do-playing ball. Sooo...now Im bout o go over to the arena. I just wanted to drop yall a few lines before I went to the game. I'll be back to the yard soon. I'll holla!

New York

I'm in the airport in NY right now...thought I would drop yall a few lines. I haven't been doing much lately-just working out really. I came to New York last night to do this appearance at the NBA 2K9 launch. It was good. Me and KG played against each other, and I won. But, I ended up losing in the finals to Andre Iguodala. O...I met Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world, and I told him I could beat him. After the launch, I went to dinner with my publicist. We ended up eating at STK, and we killed it.

I'm on my way back to Boston. Training camp starts next week. I'm excited to get the season under way. I feel like I've been waiting for the season to start for a long time now. I'm just ready to start playing again. I will give yall updates next week during training camp, but for now, I'll holla!

Back in Boston

What's up? I'm back in Boston now...got back this past Monday. I've been working out all week. I put myself on two a days-one workout in the morning and another a night. I've been going pretty hard actually..tryna get ready for this season. I want to make sure I'm in the best shape possible. I've been conditioning and shooting a lot. Other than that, I haven't been doing much. I took my daughter to the park yesterday. It was really nice outside yesterday, so I figured I would take her to the park. I'm actually glad I came back to Boston early. It's nice to see the city in the summer. When it's cold, I don't go out much. So, I'm glad I get to enjoy the warm weather now because it will be getting cold soon. Well..that's all for now. I'll holla!

WHAT'S GOOD

I know, I know...I haven't posted in a long time, but yall have to understand that I've been on break. After a long, amazing season, I needed a break to just take everything in, enjoy winning, and relax. I've had a great summer. I've done pretty much everything you can think of (well maybe not everything), and I have to tell yall about it all- the ESPYs, vacations, camps, golfing, etc. I'm going to take you on a timeline of my summer thus far, so stay with me.

As soon as we won and the parade was over, I had to fly to Louisville. I had to catch the last day of my first camp. I remember being extremely tired because I hadn't slept in about 3 days, and I was running on low fuel. But, I had to be there to see the kids. I really take pride in my camps, and I like to make sure the kids get a quality experience. I know me not being there would have disappointed the kids, so I made it happen. I actually missed being honored at the Red Sox game with my teammates because I had to be at my camp. When I got to the camp, the kids were soo excited. They made me a nice little banner that said "congratulations." I played a couple of games with the kids, talked to them about basketball, and signed autographs for them. They were all excited! I was glad that they had a good time, and that they understood why I hadn't been there all week. I ended up hosting 5 basketball camps this summer- 4 in Louisville and 1 in Lexington. They all turned out good. I actually tried to have one in Boston, but I couldn't because of conflicting dates. I hope I can have one there next year tho.

What's next.....Vegas. After my second camp, I went to Vegas with some of my teammates. During the season, we had said that we would go on a trip together if we won the championship, and that's exactly what we did. We only stayed for a couple of days, but it was nice to just chill and not have to worry about playing.

After Vegas was the ESPYs. Yall know I think I'm the best dressed on our team, so it was just another opportunity for me to get fly. Me and my girl went out there and had a really good time. We ate good, partied, and hung out with the rest of the team and their families. The show was real nice too. I hadn't ever been to an award show before, so it was a good experience...it was even better because we won!

After the ESPYs, I came back to Louisville. I finished up my camps, golfed, and, of course, skated. My golf game has actually improved. I think I'm kind of good now. I've been going pretty regularly to play, and I'm a lot better than I was last year. I'm killing all my homies that I usually go golfing with. Other than golfing, the only thing that I've been doing is skating. Yall know I love to skate. The whole summer, I've been going skating every Friday and Sunday when I'm in town. Skating is a way for me to relax. I go and just be in my own world.

After my last camp, I went to Miami on my family vacation. It was about 18 of us...all of my closest relatives. It was crazy! Whenever we all get together, we can't help but to have fun. All the kids got to experience the beach for the first time, the guys got to hang out and party, and the women got to shop. It was perfect for everyone. I love Miami, and I'm glad that my family got to experience it.

After Miami, I went down to Houston to chill with Perk. He had a party down there, and me and my girl went down for the weekend. We had a good time. I hadn't seen Perk since the ESPYs, so it was good to catch up with him. We didn't do much...just chilled really. The party that he had was coo. I think ima go back down there before the season starts.

Last week, I was in Boston. I went to Boston after I left Houston and stayed for a week. I mainly went to work out. I hadn't picked up a ball since we won, and I figured I needed to jump start my training. I just went and lifted and shot by myself for the most part. I needed to see what shape my body was in. Btw..I'm in pretty good shape.

Now, I'm back in Louisville. I will be here for the rest of the week then I'm headed back to Boston for good. I had a few things to wrap up here-that's why I came back. I'm ready for the season to start tho. I want to get back to Boston and start working out regularly. I want to be ready when preseason starts. I hope I didn't lose yall with everything that I talked about. Hope yall aren't too mad that I haven't been posting...just been chillin and enjoying my summer. Be back soon...I'll holla!

We Beat LA T-Shirts

Just wanted yall to know that I had a chance to do some shopping at Modell's the other day. They put out some nice We Beat LA ladies t-shirts so I picked up a few for my girl. There was a big crowd there when I arrived but I was able to pick up a few things, including some golf clubs. Taking up golf this offseason. Time to start playin. Gotta give Modell's a shout out for getting a bunch of those t-shirts delivered to us so the other wives could have them for the parade. They were a big hit and only added to the sea of green along the parade route. I'm in KY now for my basketball camps. I'll holla!

Celtics Championship Parade!!

We've all seen these parades on SportsCenter, the highlights of fans lining the streets, going crazy, but until you're in one I'm tellin u... U HAVE NO IDEA!! The madness was crazy. Not sure how many people were out there but it seemed like millions. It was just a sea of green, people everywhere. All ages. And they were going crazy. Some of u were probably there makin all that noise, and trust me we heard ya. And if u weren't there u will see on the highlights and you will wish u were there. It was a day filled with confetti, music, screaming and Green, Celtic Green. The celebration was off the hook, one that none of us will ever forget.

Everything started this morning. We met at the facility at 8:45 and took the team bus to the Garden. We had police escorts down. When we got to the Garden, we saw all the people in the streets... it was crazy!

We were all assigned Duck Boats to ride through the city. I was on #16. I was inside the Duck Boat at first, but when we pulled out of the parking lot, I went and stood on the back. MAN...IT WAS AMAZING. It felt soo good to see all the people that came out. I'm telling you that there's nothing in the world that tops that feeling. The signs that people had were great...there were some real funny ones. E. House was on the Duck Boat with me, and we pointed out the best signs to each other. I'm telling u it was some crazy ones! I think E. House coined how we all felt on the Duck Boat when he said, "We went from basketball stars to rock stars in one day." That's how I felt...like a rock star.

We're Hangin #17

Hey Yardbarkers, hope U stayed up for this - WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!

All the photos, the interviews, the madness in the locker room and it still hasn't really sunk in yet. But I do know we're a part of history. We just added a banner to the rafters!! And it was great to do it in front of all those great champions - Bill Russell, JoJo White, John Havlicek - all the guys who've made so much history. And the fans were rockin again - but that's nothin new - they've been great all year, every night!!

Now we celebrate and I get to share this with all the great players in this locker room - CELTICS ARE CHAMPIONS!! I'll holla

Coming Home for Game 6

We fought tonight, but in the end, it wasn't enough. I know I will be breaking down film tomorrow to see where I could have been better. It's going to be a long flight back home, but it will give me plenty of time to reflect. I have confidence in my team, and I'm sure we will bounce back! I'm going to need to see and hear all the fans on Tuesday in the Garden. Like KG says, "...keep that mother#*%!@$ rocking." Until then, I'll holla!

I just got Rondo'd

U wanna waste an hour and 8 minutes of your life? I did. I JUST GOT RONDO'D. I just saw the worst movie. I thought I would just have a chill night tonight. We had a team dinner earlier today, and after that, I thought I would come back to the room and watch a movie with my family. Soooo...we took a vote and decided on "One Missed Call." Hands down it was the wackest, most horrible, sorry, miserable, lousy, inappropriate, disappointing, pathetic, deplorable, atrocious, awful movie I've ever seen in my life. I wanted to call the front desk and ask for my money back. I can not believe that movie was that bad. It definitely made my top 3 worst movies list.

Here's my top three worst movies list:

1) Semi-Pro...it put me to sleep

2) One Missed Call...#$%&

3) The Mist...funny when it wasn't supposed to be

What's your top 3 worst movies?

The Comeback

I'll update everyone on the ankle first - it's fine, felt good. I will keep getting ice and stim on it, but there were no problems with the ankle tonight. I have to give our trainer, Ed Lacerte, credit for helping me get the ankle ready to go. He had me getting stim and icing throughout the day yesterday. I grabbed some ice from his room last night and got more treatment today. It all helped. Then he gave me a great tape job tonight. For the first time ever I got taped directly to my skin and it made a difference. The tape came off pretty good too.

The game, what can I say, great team effort. I've seen comebacks before but I've never been seen or been part of one like that. 24 points, but it really hasn't sunk in yet. We felt we were supposed to win this one from the jump, but didn't start the way we thought we would. Everybody made big shots, Paul made shots, Pose made shots, E House made shots and we got stops - that's how we got back in it. We stayed focused. We've been through adversity all year and knew we could come back. We faced it in game 6 against Detroit. We were down 8 in the 4th and came back to win. We changed momentum in the 4th to win that game and we did that again tonight. That game in Detroit helped prepare us for this. The other playoff series helped get us ready for this. It really is all about mental focus - we never believed we were in trouble. We knew if we kept making runs and got it down to 10 we'd have a chance. We made the extra pass, made the shots and made stops. P was great tonight. He wanted to guard Kobe and stepped up to the challenge

Now the focus is on game 5. Someone asked me if I was excited. I won't get excited until we win the 4th game, then I'll get excited. The next 48 minutes - we give it all we got.

Check in tomorrow, I'll have a new trivia question. Until then I'll holla.

Update

I just wanted to give yall an update on things. I got some treatment on my ankle this morning. After that, I went to practice. I took it rather easy in practice today. Since then, I've just been resting and icing my ankle. I'm about to go get a massage in a minute. I won't be doing much else for the rest of the night...just chillin and icing for me. I will check in with yall before the game tomorrow. I'll holla!

O...and I broke my own record!

Headband Challenge

First of all, wanted to thank the Yard for checking out the blog and for all the comments. I'll have some idle time while getting treatment these next few days so I will try to respond to a bunch of them. Meantime, I want to start a little something new. I'm going to challenge you with some trivia - see how much you know about me. Get the answers right and I'll send you an autographed headband. If a bunch of people get them right then I'll hit the first three. I'm going to do this every day through the rest of the Finals so if you don't get the first one right you'll have another shot.

We'll start with a high school question. I went to Oak Hill Academy and 2004 I set the school record for most assists in a game with 31. Who's record did I break?

Get it right and I'm sending you a headband. Hit me back. I'll holla

Let it get away

If you were watching the game you know that I injured my ankle in the third quarter. It happened on a fast break and I rolled it. I think I may have stepped on someone's foot, but I still haven't seen the play. It's a different feeling than I've ever had. I've injured my ankle before but this one is unlike the others. The pain is on the inside of my foot. All the other ankle sprains have been on the outside. I will be getting a lot of treatment tonight, tomorrow, Thursday to try to get it ready to go for game 4. I did try to go again in the fourth quarter, but I really couldn't make any hard cuts. No one is 100% at this point, but I was probably 50%. Coach made the right decision taking me out because I didn't have my quickness. E House did a great job filling in. When his name was called he was ready to play and that's big for us.

There's no question this one is disappointing. We feel like we had a chance to really put them away and go up 3-0. Paul never had a chance to get in a rhythm because of foul trouble and we just struggled on offense. Even though we played very bad we still had a chance in the end. We just didn't get the stops down the stretch when we needed it. They were very aggressive tonight similar to the way we were in game 2. But in the end we still had a chance but let it get away.

Heading back to the hotel and will keep working on my ankle. Lots of ice and I'll keep it elevated. I'll have more later. Until then I'll holla.

Back in Cali

I'm back in Cali in my hotel room just relaxing right now. It's been a long tiring day. we flew out of Boston at 10:30 and traveled for most of the day. Once we finally got here, I got a massage and then went with Ray to Rodeo Drive. Got some food and waited for my family to arrive. once they got here, i went and chilled with them for a minute. I took them to Mr. Chows. I love that restaurant. it's a high end Chinese restaurant. Whenever i go, i always order the chicken lettuce wraps, chicken satays, lobster, sea bass, shrimp and the filet mignon. Everytime i'm in LA i hit up Mr. Chows.

After we all ate, I came back to the hotel and watched some film, got treatment and now i'm about to lay it down and get ready for game 3. i'll be checking in with yall tomorrow.

by the way - i hope yall are checkin in on my website. http://www.rajonrondo9.com

As for now, i'll holla.
