Las Vegas Aces are Overwhelming Favorites For WNBA Title
Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Aces have turned into a dynasty in recent seasons. The two-time defending WNBA Champions will be looking to defend their title again in 2024. According to oddsmakers, they certainly have a great chance of doing so.

With the WNBA regular season set to tipoff on Tuesday, the Las Vegas Aces have been installed as the heavy favorites to win the title. They are currently even-money favorites, which is unheard of to start a season in professional sports.

But, that is what happens when you have a team as well-rounded and dominant as the Aces. They are led by an excellent head coach in Becky Hammon and her roster is loaded with talent from top to bottom.

Rounding out the top three for the title favorites are the New York Liberty at +245 and the Seattle Storm at +900. They are the only three teams with single-digit odds of winning the championship heading into the season.

Leading the way for the Las Vegas Aces is A’ja Wilson, who is also the odds-on favorite to take home the MVP award. She is listed at +110, followed by Breanne Stewart of the Liberty at +650. Indiana Fever star rookie Caitlin Clark is third at +900.

This season is projected to have the most gambling ever for a WNBA campaign. The presence of Clark is a big reason why, as the most lopsided bets have come in her to win the MVP and the Fever to win the WNBA title.

As shared by ESPN, “At ESPN BET, Clark has attracted more bets — and more money — to win the MVP than any other player. There were 15 times as many MVP bets on Clark than there were on Wilson, the favorite, entering the season at ESPN BET.”

The Fever are in the middle of the pack when it comes to championship odds at +2500, tied with the Dallas Wings for fifth. They are going to have their work cut out for them to catch a Las Vegas Aces team that has stars Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray as a supporting cast behind Wilson.
