Matt Cardona Returns To NWA, Beats Ricky Morton At NWA 75 Night One

Matt Cardona has returned to the NWA.

The National Wrestling Alliance held the first night of NWA 75, their 75th anniversary show, on August 26. Former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Matt Cardona returned to the company and held an open challenge. Before the bell, he hyped himself up and called himself the real NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, the savior of the NWA, and the hottest thing in wrestling.

Cardona then called out any young rookie who was looking to get the Matt Cardona rub. Instead, WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Morton answered the challenge. Cardona mocked Morton for his age, but the legend held his own with Cardona in a hard-fought match. In the end, Cardona hit Morton below the belt and pinned him with the Radio Silence.

Cardona went to hit Morton with a steel chair after the bell, but Ricky Morton and Alex Taylor made the save.
