The recent injury to Seth Rollins, which cost him the World Heavyweight Championship, has become one of the biggest stories in professional wrestling. On his podcast The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, veteran Matt Hardy shared his thoughts on the setback, describing Rollins as a dedicated and highly professional performer during their time together in WWE.
Hardy spoke highly of Rollins, calling him a consummate professional and one of the sharpest minds in the business. He said it was an honor to work with Rollins between 2017 and 2020 and praised his deep understanding of the craft. According to Hardy, Rollins is a true student of the game who continues to perform at the highest level.
Hardy expressed regret over the timing of the injury, noting that Rollins was in the middle of a phenomenal run both professionally and personally. He described it as an unfortunate accident but acknowledged that unpredictability is part of the wrestling world.
With Rollins sidelined, Hardy turned his attention to the evolving world title scene. A strong supporter of CM Punk, Hardy said Punk deserves another shot at the top, commending his dedication and work ethic since returning to WWE. He added that Punk has been one of the driving forces behind WWE’s resurgence and is worthy of another world title run.
Hardy also praised the rapid rise of Bron Breakker, predicting that the young star will become a world champion within the following year. He even added a touch of humor, joking that Breakker “must be good at math, it’s in his genetics.”
