A new report provides an update on Drew McIntyre‘s contract status with WWE.

As previously reported, Dres McIntyre’s WWE contract was set to expire following WrestleMania 40. Heading into the show, the two sides had not yet reached a new deal. On the second night of WrestleMania 40, Drew McIntyre beat Seth Rollins to win the World Heavyweight Championship. But after CM Punk attacked McIntyre, Damian Priest immediately cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and defeated McIntyre to win the gold.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that there is no substantive update, other than McIntyre telling talent and those close to him that he still does not have a new contract.

Sapp writes that he was told this was “not cause for alarm” with WWE’s new regime, and it is common. Per Sapp, there are plans for McIntyre, and the company plans to keep him.

McIntyre’s contract had been set to expire ahead of WrestleMania 40. Time was added to it, as he was absent for a few months in 2023. Sapp writes that the deal is currently set to expire within the next few months. The report also notes that McIntyre has made it clear that he wants to stay, but he is confident that he would succeed away from the company if needed.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
