Rey Mysterio Reveals Why Carlito Was Drafted To WWE RAW Along With The LWO

Carlito has been part of the LWO ever since he returned to WWE. Prior to WrestleMania, the LWO leader, Rey Mysterio, was supposed to team with Dragon Lee to take on Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar at WrestleMania 40. But unfortunately, Lee was attacked backstage during an episode of SmackDown. Andrade El Idolo took Dragon Lee’s spot.

A couple of weeks later, Santos Escobar revealed that it was Carlito who had attacked Dragon Lee. A week later, all members of LWO along with Carlito were drafted to Monday Night Raw. During a special Digital Exclusive interview with Cathy Kelly following this week’s episode of Raw, the Master of the 619, Rey Mysterio revealed that he played a key role in getting Carlito drafted to the Red Brang along with the LWO. The WWE Hall of Famer also mentioned that it was time for Carlito to face Mysterio in the ring and pay for his actions.

“Sure. Cathy, the thing that hurts most about this, is that we trusted Carlito. Not just me. All of LWO did. And he betrayed us. He attacked Dragon Lee. Dragon Lee is one of the homies and he earned his opportunity at WrestleMania. Same way Carlito and I earned opportunities early in our careers. But he must have forgotten about that. Cathy, I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. I did some work behind the scenes and pulled a couple strings to make sure that Carlito got drafted to Raw with the LWO. It’s time for Carlito to pay for what he did to us. Carlito it’s time for you to man up and face me in the ring,” Rey Mysterio said.
