Roman Reigns believes The Rock returned to WWE because 'something special' was happening

The Rock has been a whirlwind since returning to WWE programming. "The Great One" headlined the first night of WrestleMania on Saturday. He was part of a tag team match with his cousin Roman Reigns, which they won over Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Rhodes must contend with "Bloodline rules" for his Undisputed Championship match with Reigns on Sunday.

When speaking at his WrestleMania news conference, Reigns admitted that The Rock's return is due to WWE offering him the chance to be part of something special.

"You have to have something special going on because he always has something special being offered," Reigns said. "This had to have been something even greater than even Hollywood can offer. He does all kinds of stuff now, he's that successful. For him to pay attention to us and want to be involved with what we're doing, it just speaks on how special the Bloodline is and how we've primed this place and made this place a destination for everybody. There is no question now. This is the place to be, and it's because of us."

The Rock may be a global superstar, but he's still a wrestler at heart. He has seamlessly slipped back into his character and has brought some of the "Attitude Era" magic with him. His in-ring work at WrestleMania was high quality. His promos have gone viral on multiple occasions. And his presence has undoubtedly attracted new and old fans alike.

Reigns is right. The Bloodline storyline has been the hottest thing in wrestling for multiple years, slowly reaching a fever pitch. Now was the right time to supercharge it with the return of a legend. WWE will undoubtedly have twists and turns on night two of WrestleMania. As such, it's going to be fun to see where the story goes next and how much of a role The Rock has to play.
