Former Undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns has issued a statement.

Following his loss to Cody Rhodes in the main event of WWE WrestleMania 40 night two on Sunday, Reigns did not appear at all on Monday's WWE Raw. He posted a short video to X on Tuesday along with the caption, "Yesterday I mourned. Today is Day 1."

Reigns, who doesn't say anything in the video, is shown at the gym. After a few moments, he looks up and begins to stare directly into the camera.

Reigns' title reign ended on Sunday after 1316 days spent as champion. He first won the Universal title at Payback 2020 in a triple-threat match against The Fiend and Braun Strowman. He then unified the belt with the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38 in a win over Brock Lesnar. Reigns defended his title 30 times on WWE programming against the likes of Jey Uso, Strowman, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, Edge, Cesaro, Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Finn Balor, Lesnar, Sami Zayn, Drew McIntyre, Goldberg, Riddle, Logan Paul, LA Knight, and Rhodes. Seth Rollins, who helped Rhodes fend off The Bloodline on Sunday, defeated Reigns via disqualification at Royal Rumble 2022.
