Team CMLL beats Team AEW, Bryan Danielson vs. Blue Panther set

Team CMLL defeated Team AEW on Friday night in Arena Mexico, plus a date is set for a Bryan Danielson vs. Blue Panther dream match.

The CMLL Blue Panther, Ultimo Guerrero, Mistico, & Volador Jr. defeated AEW's Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, & Matt Sydal at CMLL's Homenaje a Dos Leyendas event Friday night in Arena Mexico, with Mistico forcing Sydal to submit. 

After Friday's bout concluded, Danielson issued a challenge to Blue Panther for next Friday night's Arena Mexico show on April 5, which Panther accepted. 

The Blue Panther bout is one that Danielson has spoken of as a dream match in the past, and mentioned in a social media post this week that Panther is his favorite luchador of all time. 

Friday's Homenaje a Dos Leyendas show marked Danielson's Arena Mexico debut.

Both Danielson and Blue Panther are Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Famers, with Danielson inducted in the Class of 2016, and Blue Panther voted in as part of the Class of 2023.
