TNA iMPACT 10/23 Recap: ‘Fade to Black’ Premieres For ‘Bound For Glory 2025’

As TNA Wrestling prepares for its return to in-ring action on November 13, the promotion premiered its “Fade to Black” special, putting the spotlight on “Bound for Glory 2025.” The special featured behind-the-scenes content from TNA’s biggest pay-per-view event of the year in Lowell.

Carlos Silva Rallies TNA Stars

After an opening video package, fans got a look at Mike Santana driving to Tsongas Center ahead of “Bound For Glory.” TNA president Carlos Silva rallied the TNA Wrestling stars in the empty arena. Silva mentioned new TNA Hall of Famers Mickie James and The Beautiful People.

Silva thanked the stars of “NXT” for working with TNA. He also heaped praise on Chris Bey, who was in attendance for the meeting. Silva thanked Bey for agreeing to help TNA announce a record attendance. He then gave Bey a special star award. Bey said his year was tough, but it was still fun. He said watching TNA Wrestling stars handle business in the ring motivates him. Bey then announced that he had been discharged from physical therapy.

Other TNA Names Speak

Tom Hannifan discussed the pressure on him and Mathew Rehwoldt to meet the standards set by Mike Tenay and Don West for TNA commentators. Eric Young then put over how special 2025 was for TNA Wrestling. Rehwoldt discussed how much attention TNA Wrestling had gotten leading up to “Bound For Glory.”

The camera then turned to Mike Santana’s daughter, who expressed her excitement for the show. She discussed how much her father had to go through to get to this point in his life and career.

TNA Hall of Fame Class of 2025

A recap of the TNA Hall of Fame was featured on “Fade to Black.” Velvet Sky and Angelina Love were emotional backstage. Mickie James said her work felt validated by fans and TNA Wrestling.

Steve Maclin’s TNA International Championship Win

The spotlight was then on Steve Maclin’s victory over Frankie Kazarian. Backstage, Kazarian got emotional discussing the sacrifices he’s made in the wrestling industry. Maclin talked about how much it meant to him that his mother was in attendance. Maclin and Kazarian embraced before an encore of their “Bound For Glory” match aired.

Kelani Jordan Spotlighted

“Fade to Black” turned its attention to TNA Knockouts World Champion Kelani Jordan, an “NXT” talent who successfully defended her gold against Indi Hartwell. Jordan discussed representing TNA Wrestling despite being a member of the “NXT” roster.

Homecoming for Eddie Edwards

Eddie Edwards’ TNA run was highlighted. Edwards was back home in Massachusetts for “Bound For Glory.” Edwards was then shown at Fenway Park, where he talked about performing in front of his home fans and family.

Hardcore War Left Fans in Awe

Clips from the Hardcore War match aired. Alisha and Eddie Edwards said they wanted fans to feel their money was well spent. Moose said moments like that make him want to give all his effort in the ring.

Leon Slater Speaks on Breakout Year

TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater was interviewed backstage. He talked about 2025 being his breakout year. His heavily praised match with “NXT” star Je’Von Evans was also on display.

Chris Bey’s Comeback In Life

Chris Bey relived his ability to walk again unassisted. Bey said watching TNA while he was recovering from a life-altering injury motivated him. Bey’s appearance at “Bound For Glory” played. Bey admitted he initially doubted he’d be able to walk again. Eventually, Bey found motivation through his supporters.

Team 3D And The Hardys

D-Von and Bully Ray recalled first meeting each other by chance. Ray said he didn’t truly become friends with D-Von until 1996. Ray recalled first realizing that Paul Heyman had a partnership with Vince McMahon while still running ECW. Team 3D and The Hardys said there was instant chemistry when they first met. They believe their bond helped them pull off their classic match at “Royal Rumble 2000.”

Bully Ray Is Born

D-Von and Ray looked back on their TNA debut. Ray recalled his split from D-Von revolving around their 3D finishing move not being enough to defeat the Motor City Machine Guns. The Bully Ray character was introduced after he ambushed D-Von.

One Final Match For Team 3D

Ray said his goal for the “Bound For Glory” match between Team 3D and The Hardys was to make fans feel something. Once the match ended, Ray said the mission was accomplished based on the fan reactions. The Hardys admitted it was difficult for them to get some sleep due to the anticipation of the match.

Mike Santana’s Special Moment

Footage of Mike Santana following “Bound For Glory” was shown. Santana was emotional as he talked about giving his daughter a better life and about being a Puerto Rican from the projects who now holds the top male prize in TNA Wrestling.

Santana was embraced backstage by several TNA wrestlers and staff after he defeated Trick Williams to become the TNA World Champion. Santana warned any future challengers that he doesn’t plan to give up his first major world championship.

Meaning of ‘Bound For Glory 2025’

“Fade to Black” had a message from the narrator, saying that the “Bound For Glory” show was about who still bleeds TNA. The promotion was then called “the heartbeat of professional wrestling.”

Replay of Mike Santana vs. Trick Williams

A special encore presentation of Mike Santana’s TNA World Championship win over Trick Williams was featured on “Fade to Black” to end the special.
