Tony Khan explains how airing the All In footage was beneficial ahead of Jack Perry’s return.

Jack Perry had been absent since AEW All In, but he returned at AEW Dynasty. There, he helped the Young Bucks beat FTR to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

At the AEW Dynasty post-show media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about Jack Perry’s return. The decision to air the All In footage came up in the conversation as well.

“I am really excited about a lot of things happening in AEW,” Tony Khan said. “I think Jack Perry’s return got a lot of excitement. It got a huge reaction. Again, I mentioned we were in Chicago, it was a great night for the company when Jon Moxley became the IWGP World Champion. I got to watch Jack Perry’s return to American wrestling in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. He got a massive star reaction at New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Windy City show.”

Tony Khan On Jack Perry’s AEW Run

Tony Khan went on to praise Jack Perry’s run in AEW. He stated that AEW made a bold call in airing the All In footage but explained how it was beneficial for his return.

“I think he’s been doing great work in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and when you go over, do an excursion, have a great run like he had in the New Japan Cup and a great performance like he had against Shota in Chicago, I think that had a lot to do with it,” Tony Khan said. “I do think we made a bold call in the run-up to this match. Really, it heightened the circumstances.

“I do think it added to the presentation of the moment of Jack Perry’s return. The pay-per-view was a home run, and I think a lot of people felt like it was a great return.”

Tony Khan On All In Footage

Tony Khan then reiterated that he felt that it was important to explain where Jack Perry had been, given his lengthy absence. Regarding the All In footage, he noted that he felt some responsibility to the viewer,

“Also, I felt like it was important to explain partially where Jack’s been because the last time we saw him on AEW television was at Wembley Stadium,” Tony Khan said. “He went through the curtain, we never saw him again since. So I did feel some responsibility to the viewer, given I knew Jack was gonna return to AEW, to explain where he’s been.”
