Austin Is Healthy, Mixed Reactions To Heart Attack Angle, AJ Styles Book, Tessmacher In Santa Outfit

Health is not an issue for Stone Cold: Wrestling legend Steve Austin once again fueled rumors that he’ll be back in WWE for one more match during an interview on Sirius 92, XM 208 show Busted Open recently. Stone Cold clarified that it’s not his health that’s keeping him from the ring: “I’m 100 percent fine. Once I had my fusion done in 2000 and I went into the recovery phase and then got back in the ring, everything was fine and dandy. I was just running too hard towards the end and had a few issues. It was time to get out. Passing the physical isn’t the issue.” Austin also discussed who he’d like to face if he chose to get back in to the ring: “I really like John [Cena]. He is the face of that company right now and he has done a hell of a job and I got a lot of respect for him. You look at a guy like Triple H, that was one of my favorite guys to work in the ring with. Such a ring general and such a pro. Just an easy night at the office. Undertaker is kind of beat to shreds, kind of like me. Those would be a few guys off the top of my head. Would it just be CM Punk? No. Is CM Punk at the top of the list? Yes!” The WWE Hall of Famer has been feuding with CM Punk online over the past year, warring on Twitter and even taking part in a Paul Heyman written interview that was used as part of WWE ’13 promotion. ________________________________________________________________________________ Jerry Jarrett turned off Raw but JBL loved it: There have been mixed reactions following last night’s Raw, after Paul Heyman and CM Punk mocked Jerry Lawler’s heart attack. Heyman was assigned as Punk’s manager in order to make sure fans don’t cheer him. It seems it may be working. Former wrestling promoter and father of Jeff, Jerry Jarrett was particularly disgusted by the segment: “I watched WWE last night. Jerry Lawler was returning after surviving a life threatening heart attack. I sat watching the television with a feeling of pride that they were honoring the return of such a great wrestler. I sat thinking, ‘now this is real class’. Just when I was appreciating the class WWE was showing, it ended suddenly with a juvenile cheap heat angle. I turned the television off and starting thinking about Linda McMahon’s hard work and great expense running for the Senate. It is exactly this kind of programming that prevented her from becoming a Senator. Wrestling should have some limits and boundaries. If you offend great portions of the audience, it is a bad angle.” Returning WWE announcer JBL on the other hand loved the angle. He wrote on Facebook: “This angle with CM Punk and Heyman faking a heart attack last night, I loved it-this is something Eddie would have loved also. People get worked up, and it is their choice to be offended by whatever they choose. Styles is one of three wrestlers to have worked continuously for the company since its first broadcast on June 19, 2002. Since he joined TNA, Styles has been a four-time World Heavyweight Champion. He has held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship three times and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship once, the very first TNA X Division Champion, while also sharing the record for most reigns (six) with Jay Lethal. With having won the TNA X Division, NWA World Tag Team, and NWA World Heavyweight Championships, Styles was the first to complete the TNA Triple Crown Championship. Styles would later complete the Triple Crown three more times, making him the only man to complete it more than once. His victory over Booker T for the TNA Legends (now Television) Championship made him the first man to have ever won the TNA Grand Slam Championship, which he has done twice.
