Jordan Hooper posted a double-double and No. 23 Nebraska beat Sam Houston State 85-72 on Tuesday night, rebounding from their first loss on Sunday. Hooper had 19 points and 10 rebounds. Emily Cady had a season-high 18 points, and Lindsey Moore had 13 points and five assists. The Cornhuskers (4-1) led 50-22 at halftime. Nebraska shot 42.5 percent from the field for the game. The Bearkats shot 41 percent. Sequeena Thomas had 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Bearkats (1-3). Chanice Smith added another 21 points and eight rebounds. Britni Martin added 16 points, with six assists. South Dakota State handed Nebraska its first loss, 60-55, on Sunday.
