– Amelia’s Law, the bill being pushed by the family of Dutch “Zeb Colter” Mantel after Mantel’s granddaughter was killed in a car wreck by a felon running from local police, has been approved by the local Judiciary Committee. It was originally shut down from voting this year due to the costs involved. It would see a stricter oversight on the parole board hearings for potentially dangerous felons. It still has a long way to go before it is official but this gives it an advantage when it is up for consideration later this year. Mantel and his daughter both worked on the bill personally.
