While WWE opted to give the United States Heavyweight Championship to Dean Ambrose instead, they still plan on pushing Big E Langston. On Monday Night Raw, he was given a pinfall victory over Alberto Del Rio, who became the #1 contender to Dolph Ziggler and the World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules.

Alberto Del Rio vs Jack Swagger at Extreme Rules
With Dolph Ziggler sidelined by a concussion, Jack Swagger and Alberto Del Rio wrestled in an I Quit match to determine the new number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. Zeb Colter tried to steal the win by making the referee think that Ricardo Rodriguez had thrown in the towel. The match was restarted, and Del Rio got the submission win with his arm breaker.
