Inoue Embarks On Training Camp In Readiness For Title Defense Bout

Japanese world titleholder Naoya Inoue has resumed intense training in readiness to defend his undisputed super-bantamweight belt against Ramon Cardenas on 4 May at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Inoue, who is a four-weight world titlist has a decorated career. He is yet to lose in 29 professional bouts.

The 31-year-old boxer, viewed as one of the best pound-for-pound pugilists globally, has not played in America since 2021.

Through its social media accounts, the promoter Top Rank, convener of this billboard, posted a video of the Japanese stardom where they disclose that he has begun his preparation for his next assignment.

In the video clip of slightly more than 40 seconds, “Monster” is seen doing various exercises and a little work with the mitts. The video ends with Inoue commenting he will go for the KO to display a good show for his American enthusiasts.

“I am thankful to the fans in America who have followed my career. Fighting at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas is another career highlight. Cardenas is a tough opponent who I respect for accepting the fight without hesitation,” said Inoue in social media post.

Elsewhere, Inoue's next rival, Ramon Cardenas, is the top-rated contender in the WBA world ratings at #2.

American Cardenas has posted 26 victorious in 27 matches and makes his first challenge for a world crown.

The San Antonio born boxer, the 29-year-old Texan is promoted by Sampson Lewkowicz.
