Jake Paul's boxing career might be over.
The former Vine and YouTube star, who made a successful move into the boxing world, has made hundreds of millions in the ring. Paul, 29, has had some big-time fights. He's gone against Mike Tyson, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., among others.
But Paul recently suffered a devastating injury.
Paul, the younger brother of Logan Paul, suffered a fractured jaw against Anthony Joshua. The injury has put his fighting career in serious doubt.
Paul opened up on The Ariel Helwani Show about the state of his fighting career, revealing that he might not be able to fight again.
Paul is set to get further testing. The test results could reveal if he's able to fight again or not.
“Yeah, I’m getting some new scans here in a couple of days of the jaw,” Paul said. “We’ll see what my doctors say. You know, can I even fight again? That is definitely in the realm of possibilities of things. It does, like, feel a lot better but I definitely need to get cleared.”
It's a real possibility that his career is over.
“Yeah, no, most definitely,” Paul said. “I think it just depends on like how the bone heals and then also there’s like a tooth missing here, like I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to get an implanted tooth of some sort. I don’t know how much time that’s going to add to things. We just have to see. Figure out what the smartest thing is for me.”
Paul is hoping that's not the case.
“Yeah, those thoughts have definitely come up,” Paul said. “Yeah, definitely my doctor Arman, shoutout to Arman, but he doesn’t want me to fight again.”
