Oleksandr Usyk boxes Daniel Dubois on July 19 in their rematch, as boxing insiders gave their predictions.

The Undisputed Heavyweight Title is up for grabs, as Usyk puts his WBA, WBC and WBO belts on the line. Their rivalry dates back to 2023 when Dubois dropped Usyk with a controversial body shot that was ruled a low blow in the fifth round. Usyk recovered and stopped Dubois in the ninth round — a result still debated by fans. The Ukrainian defeated Tyson Fury in his last two fights, as he became the undisputed champion.

Usyk then vacated his IBF belt after the first Fury win, as the belt was picked up by Dubois. Dubois then knocked out Anthony Joshua in his last fight to defend the belt. Dubois was on course to face Joseph Parker next but pulled out with an illness. The build-up has resulted in some talking points, as Dubois shoved Usyk during their first face-off. Usyk has said he wants to retire after two more fights, as everything is on the line.

Pre-Fight

“I think he has, Daniel wins the IBF belt, has beaten three good fighters. He is a world champion, a hard man, a dangerous man. Mentally no [he hasn’t changed but the], push is a weakness. It’s a new me, the fear of acting in a particular way is not there any more, now I need to just do what I need to do, this is the fight game, this is boxing,” Usyk said

“I’m a different fighter now. There have been real improvements. I’m doing things I’ve always done but I’m doing them better. Maybe I just want it more now. I’m setting out to do what my dad talked about in the beginning, before I even was a real fighter. He always said I would win a world heavyweight championship and then I’d win it outright and become a legend like Frank Bruno, Lennox Lewis and Nigel Benn [from] that era of fighters where there were real fighting men. He’s done it all, really, hasn’t he? I just have to break down whatever he’s good at,” Dubois said
