There was a lot to take away from Wednesday night’s Kentucky Pro Day, but perhaps the top headline took place off the court. During the SEC Network broadcast, John Calipari joined the show and said that “the two with foot injuries”, referencing Aaron Bradshaw and Ugonna Onyenso, will be out “another 5-6 weeks”.

Calipari was also later asked about what keeps him up at night about this team, providing a less-than-ideal answer. “That we’re not gonna have that big, “Calipari told ESPN analyst Seth Greenberg. “That keeps me up. I know our guard play is really good.”

This will put the timetable for both players to return between the Champions Classic against Kansas on November 14th and the ACC/SEC Challenge against Miami on November 28th. However, based on Calipari’s comments, it sounds like it could potentially be longer due to a setback or just getting them up to speed with the gameplan.

That said, they will likely have to play some small ball due to the lack of frontcourt depth. Most likely, Tre Mitchell and Zvonimir Ivisic will split time at the five, and Calipari will heavily rely on the guards and wings for production.

Fortunately, the Wildcats have played that brand of basketball at GLOBL Jam, where they went 4-0, and have been practicing that way as well.
