Mike Norvell is looking to see his Florida State Seminoles bounce back in a big way after a severely disappointing 2024 season.
That makes this upcoming season extremely important for Norvell, but the secret about momentum in college football is that it has a way of jumping back and forth between the field and the recruiting trail.
Success in one helps determine success in the other, and to that point, Norvell and Florida State just picked up a massive win over the likes of Georgia and Florida.
Brandon Bennett, a four-star wideout from Fort Lauderdale, Florida committed to Florida State on Thursday.

Getting a win over two SEC rivals within close proximity to Tallahassee is a big deal for the Seminoles. In-state recruiting is also vital in a talent-packed state like Florida, and Bennett is ranked as the No. 34 recruit from the state.
He's a 6-foot, 170-pound wide receiver recruit, ranked as the No. 33 wideout in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Bennett is also a decorated track star, so he's bringing real speed to the table for FSU. He's a three-time state qualifier in the 100-meter dash and a two-time qualifier in the 200-meter.
In 2024, he helped his high school, American Heritage, win the Florida 4A championship by catching 24 passes for 509 yards and seven touchdowns. He averaged 21.2 yards per catch, so he's without a doubt a home run hitter.
Bennett is Norvell's 11th 2026 commitment and he's now the highest-rated player in FSU's class.
