Abhishek Sharma and Smriti Mandhana were named the ICC Player of the Month for September following their magnificent batting display in the Asia Cup 2025 and the ODI series against Australia. Abhishek amassed 314 runs in seven matches at an average of 44.85 and a strike-rate of 200 during the Continental Cup. The southpaw was also adjudged the Player of the Tournament and is also the No.1 batter in the T20I batters rankings.

He went past the challenge of Kuldeep Yadav and Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett. “It feels good to get the ICC award, and I am happy that it came for my performance in important matches. I am proud to be a part of the Indian team and win matches from challenging situations. Our results in T20Is show the team culture and the positive mindset,” Abhishek said.

Mandhana registered scores of 58, 117 and 125 in the three matches against the Australia women. In four ODIs during that period, she accumulated 308 runs at an average of 77 and a strike rate of 135.68. She also hit the fastest hundred by an Indian batter during the Australia series, reaching the three-figure mark in 50 deliveries in the third contest.

She defeated South Africa’s Tazmin Brits and Pakistan’s Sidra Amin for the award. “This award will push me to grow and evolve as a player. I want to give my best for the team and win matches,” Mandhana said.
