A former prominent Marvel executive headlines 'Survivor' season 49 cast reveal

There’s been plenty of buzz around the upcoming 50th season of 'Survivor,' which will feature an all-star cast that even casual viewers will recognize — including 'White Lotus' creator and past contestant Mike White. But before the landmark season arrives, there’s still 'Survivor 49' to get through. Premiering in September, the new season introduces a fresh group of castaways ready to outwit, outplay, and outlast. Among them: a former Marvel Studios executive looking to trade superhero blockbusters for survival in the wild.

The cast reveal for “Survivor 49” came with plenty of quirks, including some eyebrow-raising astrology profiles, but one name stood out for a different reason. Nate Moore, who spent 14 years at Marvel Studios, is trading the red carpet for the tribal council. Moore was one of the key creative executives during Marvel’s run of box-office dominance, producing the two “Black Panther” films, including the Oscar-winning first entry, as well as “Captain America: Brave New World” and the Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” He was also part of Marvel’s inner circle of producers shaping the interconnected storytelling of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a role that earned him a reputation as one of the studio’s most trusted voices.

Moore left Marvel earlier this year to pursue independent projects, but apparently also decided to check “Survivor” off his list. The big question: does he tell his tribemates he used to be a Marvel executive, or keep that in his back pocket? Viewers will find out when Moore competes against his fellow castaways this September.
