Elizabeth Olsen’s last Marvel role was as the antagonist of 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now, the actress has responded to rumors her return is imminent.

“If there's a good way to use her I'm always happy to come back," Olsen tells FM14. It doesn’t sound as if there’s a specific plan in place for her character Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, with the actress saying she’s available if something comes up.

Adding to that, Olsen does admit she was uncertain about her future as writers took time to fully flesh out her overall role in the MCU. "It's a character that I love going back to when there's a way to use her well, and I think I have been lucky that when I started I was used well. I think people didn’t know what to do with me for a second there.”

Olsen debuted in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), and got the first Marvel spinoff series in Disney+’s WandaVision. After the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where she murdered a host of powerful superheroes in order to reunite with her children, it seems her arc has concluded.

Rumors circulate we’ll see her next in Agatha All Along, the spinoff to WandaVision. After all, Agatha plays her arch nemesis in that show. If not, we’re almost guaranteed a role reprisal in the big Marvel team-up moves. These are Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).

Olsen has a co-star who may not wish to relive his prior experience: Doctor Strange 2 was "frustrating and disappointing,” says Patrick Stewart.
