Darren Star is giving Emily In Paris fans some big updates regarding the upcoming fifth season. In an interview with Deadline, he teased, "I think we’ve got a really terrific season coming up. We filmed in Rome for the first four weeks, and that was an exciting experience to be there. Now we’re back in Paris, Emily is definitely back in Paris."
Along with Lily Collins, returning stars for season 5 include Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Eugenio Franceschini, Thalia Besson, and Lucien Laviscount.
"Lucien is basically in every episode this season," Star revealed. "He’s terrific, and I’m really happy to see him back this year in a more significant way."
One actor who will not be reprising her role is Camille Razat, who played Camille and has been part of the series since season 1. "I think her story kind of had a natural finish," the creator said.
When sharing the news, Razat wrote, "It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories," also adding, "This character has meant a lot to me, and I feel that her storyline has naturally come to an end. It felt like the right moment to explore new horizons."
She concluded with, "I leave the show with nothing but love and admiration for the cast, crew, and fans who have supported us along the way. Thank you for the beautiful ride."
As for what audiences can expect when it comes to romance? "Her love life is always complicated," he commented, referring to Emily. "We have Marcello, Lucas Bravo is going to be back this season, so we have some interesting, surprising developments in terms of her love life."
Emily In Paris is scheduled to return this year.
