Apple Original Films has dropped the official trailer for Echo Valley, starring Julianne Moore, Sydney Sweeney, and Domhnall Gleeson. The new thriller is directed by Michael Pearce, written by Brad Ingelsby, with Fiona Shaw, Edmund Donovan, Albert Jones, and Kyle MacLachlan making up the rest of the cast.
In the edge-of-your-seat thriller "Echo Valley,” Kate (Oscar winner Julianne Moore) is a mother struggling to make peace with her troubled daughter Claire (multi-Emmy nominee Sydney Sweeney)—a situation that becomes even more perilous when Claire shows up on Kate’s doorstep, hysterical and covered in someone else’s blood. As Kate pieces together the shocking truth of what happened, she learns just how far a mother will go to try to save her child in this gripping tale of love, sacrifice, and survival from BAFTA-winning director Michael Pearce and Emmy-nominated writer Brad Ingelsby.
"These are my favorite kinds of movies: movies about relationships," Moore told Vanity Fair in an interview. "What will people do for one another? What kind of decisions do you make? How far will you go?"
Producers include Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, Kevin J. Walsh, and Brad Ingelsby. Ted Deiker, Scott Greenberg, Erika Olde, Sam Roseme, Nicole Jordan-Webber, and Rebecca Feuer executive produce.
"There’s something about complex, familiar relationships that’s fascinating," the director expressed. "We hope the audiences find it a very gripping crime film, but that there’s this very rich, complicated relationship to be engaged with."
Sweeney later added, "I've had a lot of family members deal with addiction and then struggle with similar issues as Claire and her friends, and her group that she hangs out with. I've kind of had firsthand experience with it."
Meanwhile, Moore concluded that she is curious to see the reaction to the film, commenting, “There will be a sense, certainly, among parents going, like, 'well, would I do that? How far would I go?' You’re left with those questions."
Echo Valley will premiere globally June 13 on Apple TV+.
