It was a fitting bit of news for Universal to drop on Friday the 13th. For this year's Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Studios is going to take you back to Camp Crystal Lake. The "Jason Universe" experience will be one of the showpieces for this year's Halloween celebration.
As the announcement video suggests, park goers will "Come face to face with the silent killer Jason Voorhees. Flee through his sinister shack and into the summer camp where his gruesome legend began."
If you've ever been to an amusement park during Halloween season, you've likely seen a similar conceit. It's an immersive experience of the haunted house variety, though this is more of the haunted maze space. This is your chance to get your camp counselor on and run from Jason. Of course, as long as you don't get into any hanky-panky, the laws of the "Friday the 13th" universe should mean you're okay.
The Jason Universe will be around at Universal Studios Orlando from August 29 through November 2 and Universal Studios Hollywood from September 4 through November 2. Get yourself to one of those cities to get chased down by a maniac with a machete. Who could say no to that?
