Members of the Ton can breathe a sigh of relief as Jonathan Bailey confirms his return for Bridgerton‘s upcoming fourth season at Netflix.
The actor dropped by Good Morning America on Friday, August 16 to discuss his recent work, including his Emmy-nominated role in the limited series Fellow Travelers. While sitting with the GMA team, they couldn’t help but ask the actor, who plays Viscount Anthony Bridgerton in the series, if he’d be back for the upcoming installment.
“Well, I look forward to reading the scripts,” he teased before adding, “No, I mean we’re gonna follow the stories. The thing about Bridgerton that is so brilliant is that there’s so many different ways you can fall in love as humans, and that’s what the show will explore, and obviously being the older brother, I’m gonna be there to support the youngsters as we go.”
If that wasn’t confirmation enough of Bailey’s return, he added, “I have a couple of weeks etched out in my schedule for returning, so I’m really excited. And Luke Thompson is gonna be stunning. And who knows who his love interest is gonna be?”
Season 4 of the series will shift focus to the second-eldest brother of the Bridgerton family, Benedict (Thompson), as previously announced by Netflix. It is unclear who will portray his love interest at this time, but in author Julia Quinn’s books upon which the series is based, Benedict’s match is Sophie Beckett. Their love story unfolds in the third book of Quinn’s series, An Offer From a Gentleman.
“Benedict’s full of wonder and joy,” Bailey continued about his onscreen brother. “He’s the beating heart of the family. It should be brilliant. Can’t wait!”
As fans will recall, Bailey led Season 2 alongside his onscreen love, Simone Ashley, who plays Kate Bridgerton (formerly Sharma). In Season 3, it was revealed the couple would welcome their first baby, so here’s to hoping that will be incorporated into their Season 4 storyline. Only time will tell for certain. Stay tuned for more on Bridgerton‘s fourth season as new details emerge,

Defense ruled the day during the joint practice between the New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings. Per Chad Graff of The Athletic, the Patriots defense did a masterful job of disrupting Vikings second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy at Wednesday's practice. However, New England's offensive line was unable to allow Drake Maye to have enough time to finish plays. "Even with four new expected starters up front following last year’s debacle, Wednesday suggested that there will likely be some bumps ahead for this offensive line," Graff wrote. "Sure, going up against the Vikings was always going to be a difficult task. Greenard has been wrecking his own team’s practices in training camp, and everyone in New England knows how good Flores’ scheme can be. But the domination was so thorough by the Vikings’ front seven that three straight plays at one point would’ve resulted in a sack." Maye showed flashes of promise when he had time to throw downfield or was able to use his legs to buy time or scramble when pressure came. The concern is that the offensive line won't allow Maye enough time to even scramble so he can make throws. Graff has noticed the same issues that happened on Wednesday have been a constant at training camp against the Patriots defense. With a new-look offensive line that includes first-round pick Will Campbell at left tackle, the Patriots are expected to have some bumps at training camp and in September. New England's offense probably won't look great out of the gate while the offensive line develops in offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels' scheme. If and when the offensive line improves, Maye will have a chance to show off the arm that made him the No. 3 pick in 2024. For now, the offensive line is a concern much like it was last season.
The Washington Commanders are currently dealing with some wide receiver issues heading into the season. An NFL analyst poured more fuel on the fire by proclaiming that Adam Peters will regret a huge call earlier this offseason. Terry McLaurin is not practicing and hasn't for months as his contract battle with the Commanders goes on. Others lower down the depth chart are coming in for increasing criticism, which leaves general manager Adam Peters with a potential problem on his hands if they cannot turn the tide before Week 1. The Commanders' wideout regeneration began by letting Dyami Brown walk in free agency. Although the former third-round pick displayed much-improved performances down the stretch and into the playoffs, it wasn't enough for Peters to give him an extended stay. NFL analyst believes Commanders could regret letting Dyami Brown walk Brown ended up signing a one-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars that includes $9.5 million guaranteed. He's made his presence felt over the summer, drawing praise from quarterback Trevor Lawrence and head coach Liam Coen. This is the time of year he always flourished in Washington, but putting it together in a competitive setting was far more challenging. That didn't stop Brock Vereen of CBS Sports from labeling Brown as a sleeping giant ready to take over in 2025. The analyst thought his stock was low right now, but the Commanders could be kicking themselves for letting him go when it's all said and done. Stock right now is low on him because, 'Oh, Washington got rid of him. They replaced him with Deebo Samuel. He only landed a one-year deal.' This is a sleeping giant. Liam Coen knew exactly what he was doing. Dyami Brown is a versatile weapon. He can take handoffs, he can catch the ball, he can line up anywhere on the field. He even has pass attempts over his career. He can do everything and will be probably the most forgotten offensive weapon coming off of the Travis Hunter hype.Brock Vereen via SI Brown always flattered to deceive in Washington. He had every physical tool imaginable to be successful, but consistency never got close to the required standard. Peters takes sentiment out of every equation. The front-office leader didn't think the North Carolina product was worth what Jacksonville was willing to pay. And he pivoted accordingly. There probably won't be much regret around Brown's departure, regardless of whether he performs well with the Jaguars or not. He had countless chances to establish himself as a long-term option and almost always failed to deliver. If he'd done so, the Commanders would have rewarded him with a new deal. That wasn't the case. And there are still more questions than answers around Brown despite his promising start in the Florida sunshine. More Commanders news and analysis
Oregon wide receiver Jurrion Dickey has struggled to live up to expectations in his first two seasons with the Ducks, and he is now in a terrible position heading into 2025 as well. Dickey has been suspended indefinitely by Oregon, head coach Dan Lanning announced on Tuesday. Lanning also suggested that Dickey may not play for the Ducks again. "We have two team rules; that’s respectful, be on time,” Lanning said, via James Crepea of The Oregonian. “There’s some pieces of that where I felt like he needed a break from us and we needed a break from that so we could focus on what’s in front of us right now. "Wishing him nothing but the best, as far as success and want to see him get back to where he can be a contributor somewhere; that might be here that might be somewhere else.” Dickey was a five-star recruit and rated as one of the top wide receivers in the country when he came out of Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, California, in 2023. He suffered an injury in his senior year in high school and redshirted as a freshman at Oregon. Dickey has two catches for 14 years during his time with the Ducks. Oregon went 13-1 in Lanning's third season with the program last season. The Ducks lost to eventual national champion Ohio State in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.
Florida Gators quarterback DJ Lagway is entering his second season with the team, although this will be his first as the full-time starter. Lagway threw for 1,915 yards with 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions after taking over for Graham Mertz. Lagway led Florida to a 6-1 record in seven starts and showed plenty of promise, which is great news for the program and head coach Billy Napier. However, the five-star recruit has dealt with a number of injuries in the summer. He dealt with a shoulder injury and was recently seen in a walking boot due to a calf injury, which sparked questions of whether or not he would be good for Week 1. New DJ Lagway Update Surfaces On Wednesday, a new update emerged on the Gators' signal-caller, according to Pete Nakos of On3. "A source emphasized to On3 on Wednesday that the quarterback “will be ready” for Week 1," Nakos wrote. Napier had mentioned previously that Lagway was "on the right track" and had been "working hard all summer," but this latest news is a step in the right direction for Florida's star quarterback. Earlier in the week, Napier also spoke about Lagway's progress and his status going forward. “I think he’s doing great,” Napier said. “I think he’s on schedule; he’s executing our plan... Think he had his best day today. He took more reps today than he’s been taking. Obviously, he didn’t participate in the scrimmage [last Saturday], but he’s hitting all his numbers from a throw perspective. The ball is coming out of his hand with more velocity than any time in his career." Napier did mention on Monday that he would be "modified" for a while, but being ready for Week 1 would be excellent news for Florida. Florida's QB Room Outlook Florida has every right to be a bit reserved about Lagway's status. For starters, the Gators begin the year against Long Island Brooklyn in Gainesville and then host South Florida, both games in which they should be favored. Week 3 is the big test against LSU on the road, followed by Miami (FL) on the road, so it will be of utmost importance to have Lagway fully ready by that time. If Lagway can't play, it will be either Louisville transfer Harrison Bailey or Aidan Warner, who stepped in for Lagway last year when he suffered an injury. True freshman Tramell Jones is also on the roster, although it remains to be seen what the official QB depth chart looks like for Florida. Nonetheless, this is a promising development on the Lagway injury front.
