Earlier this month, we noted some news related to casting of the latest version of "The Thomas Crown Affair." This is the third take on that story, and this one is both starring and being directed by Michael B. Jordan. Well, though the movie has started shooting, expect some more casting news soon as Taylor Russell has left the production.
This will be no small task, as Russell was set to star opposite Jordan in the Faye Dunaway/Rene Russo role. Basically, "The Thomas Crown Affair" has lost its female lead. The movie is still going to keep pressing forward, but this will certainly mess with filming.
The reports cite that Russell had "creative differences" with the production. Given that Jordan is both directing and starring, it's easy to speculate where Russell's "creative differences" were pointed.
Fortunately for Jordan, "The Thomas Crown Affair" is slated to be released on March 5, 2027, so there is time to recast the role and then shoot every single scene involving the character, including, one assumes, some reshoots.
