Nicole Kidman returns as mysterious guru in Hulu's 'Nine Perfect Strangers' season 2 trailer

As we approach next month's premiere of Nine Perfect Strangers season 2, Hulu has shared the trailer and key art to get fans excited. The first season debuted back in 2021, and besides Nicole Kidman, who will return as Masha, we will have an entirely new cast.

Nine new strangers connected in ways they could never imagine are invited by mysterious guru Masha Dmitrichenko (Nicole Kidman) to join a transformational wellness retreat in the Austrian Alps. Over the course of a week, she takes them to the brink. Will they make it? Will she? Masha is willing to try anything in the interest of healing everyone involved, including herself.

During an interview with Deadline before accepting her AFI Life Achievement Award, the actress teased the second season with "Swiss Alps and crazy! Hold on tight cause it’s going to get wild!"

While describing her character, she explained to Vanity Fair, "She morphs. She adapts. She’s not connected to her physicality in that way—it’s just there either as a portal to something or as a weapon or as a distraction."

The new faces we will see include Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Lucas Englander, King Princess, Murray Bartlett, Dolly de Leon, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Mark Strong, and Aras Aydin.

Just like season one, fans can look forward to funny and revealing interactions between the strangers, according to Kidman, who expressed, “Come and time travel with us. Go back, go forward, and go to places you’ve never been."

The series hails from David E. Kelley, Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories, Kidman’s Blossom Films, and FIFTH SEASON, which is also handling distribution.

Kelley, Kidman, Per Saari, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Molly Allen, Jonathan Levine, Rachel Shukert, Liane Moriarty, Matthew Tinker, Anthony Byrne, and JH Butterworth are executive producers.

The upcoming season premieres with two episodes on May 21. After that, new episodes will be released on Wednesdays, leading up to the season finale on July 2.
