'Only Murders in the Building' star Martin Short wants Ryan Reynolds, Bill Murray, and Kristen Wiig to guest star

With Only Murders in the Building currently filming its fifth season, fans are eager for any hints at what the upcoming storyline will be or possible cameos. Well, while star and executive producer Martin Short wouldn't spill any secrets or offer specific teasers, he did give a list of future cameos he would like to see.

"Wouldn’t it be nice to see Ryan Reynolds on Only Murders? I’m a fan of a lot of people. How cool to have Bill Murray on? Kristen Wiig? Now we’re talking," the actor expressed to The Hollywood Reporter

They have had some insanely cool guest stars so far, including Meryl Streep, Melissa McCarthy, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Ron Howard, and Eva Longoria for season four.

It has already been confirmed that Streep will return for the new season. Steve Martin and Selena Gomez make up the rest of the leading trio.

"I’ve seen four rough cuts [of season five] and they’re very strong," is all that Short would give regarding season 5. He also commented that he cannot pick a favorite season because they are "so drastically different from the other," and “They’ve all been golden to me."

Martin and John Hoffman serve as the show's co-creators and writers. They also executive produce alongside Gomez, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal. 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios, produces.

"Whether it’s film or television or anything you do, you can’t control the outcome, you don’t know if the movie’s going to be great or good or bad. But what you can protect is the experience," he concluded. "The set of Only Murders, I’m very proud to say that it’s one of the happiest sets in show business and everyone who gets on it says the same thing."

Only Murders in the Building is streaming on Hulu.
