Paramount+ drops teaser trailer for 'Mayor of Kingstown' season 4 starring Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco

Paramount+ has announced some big news for the new season of Mayor of Kingstown, including a release date and teaser trailer, which offers a first look at Edie Falco's Warden Nina Hobbs.

In season four, Mike’s control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town. Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new Warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.

The series stars Jeremy Renner, Lennie James, Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Nishi Munshi.

"It’s a detonation, not an escalation," Dillon told Entertainment Weekly. "The blade’s sharper. The cuts go deeper. It’s about the intricacies of human emotion under pressure, and the choices we make when we have no good choices left. It's an incendiary season 4."

He continued to express, "The past doesn't catch up with you. It reloads. So it's coming and, in Mike's case, it is right there. And Mike isn't somebody who runs, and that's what's interesting. He stands and fights and he's not ruled by fear or greed. So we just follow the truth of this character."

Mayor of Kingstown is co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Dillon, who both executive produce alongside showrunner Dave Erickson, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Christoph Schrewe, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo, and Keith Cox.

"Sometimes that we forget, in this world of corrections, there are people that this is their work," Dillon added. "We're just trying to make the show as authentic as we can with these characters and base them off real experiences and real folks."

Season 4 premieres on Sunday, October 26.
