After going public with her engagement to Travis Kelce last month, Taylor Swift could reportedly be preparing for another announcement. “Negotiations are happening” for the pop star to potentially headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show in 2026, according to a report from Daily Mail.
Daily Mail reported talks are taking place with Swift to potentially take the stage at Levi’s Stadium in February. Another source told the publication the NFL would hope to make an announcement around Thanksgiving.
Swift isn’t the only name in consideration for the big game, though, according to Daily Mail. The publication reported it could opt to go the country music route with Post Malone and Jelly Roll as headliners following their success on Malone’s most recent album, F-1 Trillion.
Swift’s name has been a hot one around the Super Bowl halftime show, though it was previously believed she wanted to wait to perform until Kelce retired. However, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell added to the speculation this week.
During an appearance on Good Morning America, Goodell called it a “maybe” that the four-time Album of the Year winner would take the stage. He also said the NFL would be all-in on doing so.
“We would always love to have Taylor play,” Goodell said. “She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time.”
Goodell also joked he’s “waiting on” Jay-Z to make that call. He and his company, Roc Nation, produce the halftime shows each year.
Taylor Swift has had a constant presence at Kansas City Chiefs games since she started dating Kelce in 2023. Their relationship began shortly after Kelce went on his podcast and expressed his disappointment he didn’t get to meet Swift at a concert at Arrowhead – a moment she called a “man-tantrum” during an appearance on his New Heights podcast.
The couple has been the talk of the sports and entertainment worlds since. During their first year together, Kelce got a Super Bowl ring with the Chiefs. Now, Swift has a ring of her own after he proposed in a moment captured in the Instagram post heard ’round the world.
It turns out, Kelce proposed to Swift around the time she appeared on his podcast alongside his brother Jason, according to his father, Ed. She announced her album The Life of a Showgirl, which will release in October, in a rare interview with the two brothers.
