Tom Holland has a big 2026 ahead of him with Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and Destin Daniel Cretton's Spider-Man: Brand New Day, both releasing in July.
"The script is the best script I've ever read," the actor told AFP of the upcoming adaptation. "Chris [Nolan] is a real collaborator. He knows what he wants... but it is not an environment where you can't pitch ideas or build characters in certain ways."
Universal Pictures has described the movie as "a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology."
The cast also includes Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Jon Bernthal, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Benny Safdie, Bill Irwin, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, Himesh Patel, Corey Hawkins, Samantha Morton, and Jesse Garcia.
Additionally, Holland and Zendaya, who are engaged in real life, will share the screen in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which marks his fourth solo film as the beloved superhero.
However, even after all this time, he says that putting on the suit still "feels like the first time." He continued to share, "Yesterday, I was on top of a tank driving down the high street in Glasgow, in front of thousands of fans, and it was awesome," before concluding, "It was so incredible, it was exciting, and exhilarating, and it felt fresh."
Jacob Batalon is also coming back, while Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Mando will be reprising their roles as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Bruce Banner/The Hulk, and Scorpion, respectively. Liza Colón-Zayas and Sadie Sink are joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with this being their first movie in the franchise.
It will be a cool experience to see Holland on the big screen as such different characters back to back.
