It's safe to say that Lewis Hamilton's first season at Ferrari isn't going as planned. The British driver has had many more negatives than positives, and he is moving closer and closer to Ferrari's record for longest run without a podium.
After crashing out on lap 22 of the Dutch Grand Prix, Hamilton has now gone 15 races without standing on the podium for Ferrari, which is the second worst all-time.
Hamilton surpasses Gilles Villeneuve (14) and is now only four behind Didier Pironi (19). The Ferrari driver has come close to the podium, finishing fourth in Imola, Austria, and England, but he is still chasing that elusive podium.
His Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc, has managed to score five podiums this season, but his season is going just about as well as Hamilton's as he also crashed out of the Dutch Grand Prix.
Hamilton's first season at Ferrari has not lived up to expectations in the slightest. Outside of a sprint race win in China, nothing has gone his way, and his crash in Zandvoort sums up his season.
His results have been so disappointing to himself that he has gone as far as to call himself "useless" and advise Ferrari to hire a different driver for 2026. Those comments came after he qualified 11th in Hungary, while his teammate grabbed pole position that weekend.
Hamilton had shown some signs of improvement during the season, but in the end, it always comes crashing back down.
We all know the greatness that is Lewis Hamilton, and it's safe to say he's being too hard on himself. With the new regulations coming in next season, it's a clean slate for the Ferrari driver to show that he still has what it takes to drive for Formula 1's most historic team.
