Benjamin Pavard is still on the market, but will nevertheless start Inter Milan’s Serie A opener against Torino.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908.
In the last few weeks, transfer rumours have swirled around Inter defender Benjamin Pavard.
Reportedly, the Nerazzurri would be willing to cash in on the Frenchman this summer. Two seasons after his arrival from Bayern Munich, they no longer consider him a key part of the squad.
Turkish champions Galatasaray reportedly are keen on Pavard. Then, Neom have not hid their interest in bringing the 29-year-old to the Saudi Pro League.
Furthermore, the possibility of a move back to Ligue 1 has also emerged.
Lille have withdrawn their interest, as they consider a move for Pavard to be too expensive.
However, Marseille have reportedly lined the Frenchman up as a target.
In spite of this, however, Inter have hardly frozen Pavard out of their squad.
On the contrary, Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu is planning to hand the 29-year-old a start against Torino this evening. He’ll get the nod over Yann Bisseck and Matteo Darmian.
It may well be the case that Pavard’s future at Inter is up in the air until deadline day.
However, Chivu will rely on the Frenchman’s pace and experience to marshal mercurial Torino forward Nikola Vlasic this evening.
