  • WWE and UFC Hall of Famers defended Raja Jackson after his attack, shocking and angering fans.
  • Mark Henry, Rob Van Dam and Chael Sonnen downplayed Raja's role and blamed the promotion.
  • Fans revolted: Van Dam flip-flopped, Sonnen's video drew 50k+ dislikes, public disgust ensued.

Following the attack by Raja Jackson on Syko Stu at a recent independent wrestling event, multiple WWE and UFC Hall of Famers shockingly came to the defense of Rampage Jackson's son. Fans of both sports were outraged by comments from these legends, with one wrestler even making a 43-minute video regarding the incident.

Mark Henry Doesn't Blame Raja Jackson For The Situation

In a recent video he posted, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry explained that Jackson shouldn't be at fault for the incident since he's not involved in the wrestling business. He then claimed that Stu bit off more than he could chew and incited a riot, defending the MMA legend's son.

These comments left many fans disgusted, as they would assume that someone who was actively involved in the sport for decades would be able to understand that many wrestlers are trained to perform, not to fight.

Unfortunately, Henry isn't the only WWE Hall of Famer who has come to the defense of Jackson.

Rob Van Dam Stated He Has Raja Jackson's Back

Following the situation, ECW icon Rob Van Dam made a highly controversial tweet, stating that he was on Jackson's side.

Van Dam posted a 43-minute YouTube video on the topic afterward, in which he made several statements that contradicted his original post. He later tweeted that he didn't condone what Jackson did, though he was doing just that in his original post.

"So far, I got Raja's back." - Rob Van Dam via X - August 24, 2025

"I'm not picking a side. If I did, I'm not even saying it would be Raja's." - Rob Van Dam via YouTube - August 26, 2025

It's unknown what the WWE Hall of Famer's intent was with this tweet, though many of Van Dam's followers and longtime supporters called him out for defending Jackson's attack. Similarly to Henry, it was expected that Van Dam would side with Stu given his history in the business.

Chael Sonnen Defends Raja Jackson In YouTube Video

WWE legends were not the only ones defending Jackson's deplorable actions, as UFC Hall of Famer Chael Sonnen also came to the defense of the 0-1 MMA fighter in his latest YouTube video.

Sonnen began his 12-minute video by stating that he knows Jackson personally and likes him, and that Jackson did not mean to deliberately hurt the pro wrestler. Despite it very clearly being a legitimate and intended attack, Sonnen claimed that Rampage's son was only following the spot as planned and did not hit him out of anger.

He then mentioned receipts in wrestling, hinting that Jackson may have thrown real punches in retaliation for Stu smashing a prop bottle onto his head, contradicting his previous statement.

Like Henry and Van Dam, the UFC Hall of Famer blamed the promotion and Stu for the situation, but not the attacker. Sonnen even went as far as to claim that this could result in the wrestler being blackballed from the business. His YouTube video has surpassed 50,000 dislikes, with a majority of Sonnen's audience calling him out for attempting to change the narrative.
