Former UFC champion responds after his son’s disturbing actions left a wrestler hospitalized
A bizarre scene played out yesterday at a Los Angeles pro wrestling event that left fans stunned and the MMA world buzzing. During a Knokx Pro Wrestling show streamed live on Kick, 25-year-old Raja Jackson, son of UFC legend Rampage Jackson, stormed the ring in what appeared to be a staged moment gone wrong. What followed quickly crossed the line between performance and reality, sparking serious concern for the safety of one wrestler and leading to Rampage himself addressing the incident publicly.
According to clips shared by Ben Davis on X, Raja entered the ring and hoisted Stuart Smith—better known by his wrestling name Syko Stu—before slamming him to the canvas.
When Smith remained motionless, Raja unleashed more than 20 punches to his head before others rushed to stop the assault. Smith was hospitalized with injuries but later confirmed awake and stable.
I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable. Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match, Raja was told that he could get his “payback”in…

Rampage Jackson broke his silence on X, offering clarity and condemning the actions. He explained that Raja, who recently suffered a concussion in MMA sparring, had been struck just moments before the incident. ‘Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match,’ Rampage wrote. ‘Raja was told that he could get his “payback” in the ring. I thought it was part of the show. It was bad judgment, and a work that went wrong. Raja is an MMA fighter, not a pro wrestler, and had no business involved in an event like this. I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL!’
He continued: ‘As a father, I’m deeply concerned with his health AND the well-being of Mr. Smith. That being said, I’m very upset that any of this happened, but my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery. I apologize on his behalf and to Kick for the situation.’
The incident has sparked heated discussion in both wrestling and MMA circles, raising questions about safety and accountability when real violence crosses into the scripted world of pro wrestling.
