From Travis Kelce's point of view, the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl clash against the Philadelphia Eagles had a lot riding on it.
With his thriving relationship with Taylor Swift going perfectly, there was a thought that if the Chiefs had won and claimed the historic three-peat, Kelce and Swift would ride off into the sunset together to begin the next phase of their relationship.
But as we know, the Chiefs were blown out 40-22, and now Kelce is back for a 13th season; however, was there merit to the rumors of Kelce retiring if the Chiefs won?
According to a source who spoke to RadarOnline.com, had Kansas City won, Travis was going to hang up the cleats.
"The idea was Travis would win the Super Bowl and go out in a blaze of glory, so they'd have more time to be together and could plan a wedding and a baby," the source said. "Fans want them to start a family the sooner the better."
Now that Kelce is back for another year, the pair's life plans will have to be put aside once the 2025 season begins, but right now, they are making the most of their precious time together.
With Swift not touring in 2025, many expect her to be at nearly every Arrowhead Stadium game to cheer on Travis in what will in all likelihood be his farewell tour before he does retire at season's end.
And then, Taylor and Travis' relationship can be taken the next level with possibly marriage and kids on the way.
