The Los Angeles Dodgers have wrapped up the NL West title and also secured the top seed in the National League, which guarantees them home-field advantage through at least the NLCS.

They’ve won a franchise-record 108 games and are still playing their best baseball, even after securing the top seed in the NL.

The only thing left for them to do now is to clinch the best record in all of baseball.

They own the best record right now, but all it takes for them to clinch home-field advantage through the World Series is another win or a Houston Astros loss.

In other words, their magic number for that is down to one.

Dodgers Closing In On Best Record

This will be the final step the Dodgers need to take before the postseason begins.

If and when they secure the best record, they’ll be the overwhelming favorites to win it all, if they aren’t already.

If you’re going to win the World Series, you’ll have to go through Los Angeles first, even if by a small chance the Astros rally to take the best record.

This is the team to beat in the National League.

They have a deep and talented offensive ballclub, and their pitching is also elite.

Whoever has to deal with them in the NLDS is going to have their hands full for sure, even if it’s the Atlanta Braves or the New York Mets.

It’s going to be difficult to get past them, and will probably take five games.

But there’s still some time left before the playoffs.

Now, we wait and see how teams will line up their pitching staffs for the first round.
