The Atlanta Braves lost Spencer Strider to the injured list after he suffered a Grade 1 left oblique strain. The pitcher’s absence has cost the Braves, especially putting more pressure on their starting rotation. Yet, the Braves have managed to hold on to the top spot, and good news is coming their way.
Strider is making his way back to the starting rotation, but there’s a catch. With the limited number of pitchers, the Braves don’t want their ace to get back on the IL. The club wants to take things slowly and wait for Spencer Strider to fully recover.
The good news is that Strider is making a comeback. Strider will begin his rehabilitation assignment with High-A Rome. The Braves have made an announcement on Strider’s progress.
The Braves are playing their cards carefully. They hold the third-best record in the league despite the absence of Strider. Atlanta is also aware that they need Strider towards the end of the season.

As long as they are able to hold on for now, the Braves are good without Strider. The pitcher has made great progress, but his return timeline could take a while. Strider’s return would be a huge boost for the team’s starting rotation. They have a great chance of winning the NL East with the Phillies and Mets struggling.
The Braves will closely monitor Spencer Strider’s situation. When he gets to the majors, they are expected to give him limited innings at the start. Apart from Strider, Sean Murphy, Danny Young, Ha-Seong Kim, Hurston Waldrep, AJ Smith-Shawer, Spencer Schwellenbach, Joe Jiménez, and Joey Wentz are on the injured list.
Most of the players are expected to get back before the All-Star Break. Spencer Strider is the most important player the Braves need.
