Following seven straight series wins since July 27th, the Toronto Blue Jays are now on the ropes for a series loss against the New York Yankees.
Dropping the series opener 3-1 in the Bronx, the Jays need to prepare their offense to rally behind Cy Young favorite and right-handed pitcher Dylan Cease to tie it up.
Announced by the Blue Jays on Saturday morning, $500 million superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been reinstated from the 7-day concussion injured list and will be active tonight.
While Guerrero Jr. has not be his usual self this season, posting a .693 OPS with just seven home runs in 115 games, his presence in the lineup makes those around him better.
As the corresponding move, Toronto optioned utility man Davis Schneider back to Triple-A Buffalo.

Schneider is sent back down to the minor leagues just one day following his recall to the big league roster. He entered Friday’s game as a defensive replacement in left field for the final two innings of the contest.
The 27-year-old has been up and down in the Blue Jays system this season, having minimal offensive success compared to 2025.
In 62 games this season, Schneider is slashing .142/.295/.274, for a .569 OPS, with three home runs, 12 RBI and 16 total hits. A far cry from his 11 home run, .797 OPS just a season ago.
Schneider continues to tear the cover off the ball in Triple-A, posting a .894 OPS with six home runs. The team hopes he will be able to transfer those skills over to the big league roster down the stretch.
