The Chicago Cubs have been great on offense this season. They continued that success at the plate yesterday afternoon on the road against the Cincinnati Reds. They defeated the Reds 11-8. It was Chicago’s 12th game this season with 10+ runs. That is their most games with 10+ runs through 54 games since 1898.

The Chicago Cubs have also been great against from the sixth inning onwards. They have outscored the opposition 53-3 from in the 6th inning and later this season. Will the Chicago Cubs continue being carried by their offense in 2025?

Chicago’s pitching staff has been the weaker part of the team in 2025. They are 19th in ERA, 21st in opposing batting average, and 18th in WHIP. The club’s pitching staff has had to overcome various injuries this season. That is one of the reasons why the unit has struggled to find its footing.
