Former LSU catcher Hayden Travinski has signed a contract with the Houston Astros organization.

Hayden Travinski played a major role on LSU's 2023 National Championship team and has finally signed a pro contract after going undrafted in 2024. He will join the Houston Astros' rookie-level affiliate in the Florida Complex League.

During his LSU career, Travinski appeared in 177 games with 119 starts, including 41 in 2023 and 65 in 2024. His batted .279 with 37 homers and 110 RBIs in his five-year career.

Travinski's best season came in 2023 when the Tigers ran through everyone as they fought their way to their seventh national championship. In that season, Travinski set a career-high in batting average (.356) while blasting 10 home runs and driving in 30 runs.

During the Baton Rouge Regional, Travinski was named to the All-Tournament team after going 6-for-14 with one double, two home runs and five RBIs. Before that, he was red hot in the SEC Tournament, going 7-for-13 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

His fifth and final season came in 2024 where he appeared in 65 games and hit .271 with 16 home runs and 53 RBIs in 225 at bats. He was voted on the ABCA All-South Region Team and the SEC All-Tournament team that season.

Travinski went undrafted in the 2024 MLB Draft and has been waiting to sign a pro contract ever since. Now, he can finally say he's a professional. He has a long ways to go if he wants to make the major leagues, but this is the first step.
