Francisco Lindor Reacts to Major Mets Decision 

Green initially took over the Mets after the club started 34-47. Since then, New York has gone 37-38, giving the organization a reason to keep him in the dugout beyond the 2026 season.

Lindor’s support comes as the Mets prepare for an offseason focused on evaluating the roster and building around their current core.

The veteran shortstop has appeared in 100 games this season, hitting .225 with 20 home runs, 48 RBI, 11 doubles and four triples.

Green previously served as the Mets’ senior vice president of player development before taking over as manager. His familiarity with the organization and its younger players has been an important part of his transition to the dugout.

The Mets entered Wednesday at 72-85 and have been eliminated from postseason contention. Their final games will now give Green an opportunity to continue working with the roster before heading into his first full offseason as the club’s manager.
