Seattle Mariners manager Dan Wilson said pitcher Bryce Miller performed well in his recent bullpen activity and expects to see the right-handed pitcher back in the lineup very soon. Miller hasn't played a single game this season for the Mariners since being placed on the injured list prior to the start of the 2026 MLB season.

Miller suffered a setback on his road to Opening Day as he began dealing with left oblique discomfort during his first start of Spring Training. He was only able to play for 1.1 innings and was unable to play any more Spring Training games.

Despite throwing a few bullpen sessions before the start of the season, the team chose to keep him off of the Opening Day roster in order to continue his rehab and get the pitcher to full recovery. Miller was replaced by pitcher Emerson Hancock to start the season.

Wilson said that Miller's recovery has gone well, especially after his performance while throwing a bullpen yesterday. The team looks forward in taking the next steps necessary in order to have Miller rejoin the roster in Seattle this weekend.

Miller has been a key pitcher for the Mariners since making his debut for Seattle in 2023. In his debut game against the Oakland Athletics, Miller made Mariners history by becoming the pitcher with the most strikeouts in his debut game, recording 10 strikeouts.

Miller continued making history by allowing only eight baserunners in his first three starts, breaking the MLB record held since 1901. Two games later, Miller become the first pitcher since 1901 to pitch at least six innings and only allow four or less hits in his first five appearances.

Miller ended his debut season with a 4.32 ERA, recording 119 strikeouts in 131.1 innings played. He followed up his great debut season with another great showing during the 2024 MLB season, recording a 2.94 ERA and striking out 171 batters.

The right-handed pitcher struggled with injuries during the 2025 MLB season, making his way to the injured list on multiple occasions as he dealt with elbow inflammation. Despite facing setbacks due to injuries, Miller made his postseason debut with the Mariners, contributing with three starts and help guiding his team all the way to the ALCS.

The Mariners know they have an ace in their hands with Miller, and despite the multiple injuries he's suffered over the past few months, he continues to be a key component for the team. Once Miller is full recovered, expect him to make his starting debut this season as soon as possible.
