MLB Makes Historic Tampa Bay Rays Announcement on Monday

In fact, the Rays did something that had only been done one other time in franchise history, and the MLB revealed the news after the win. 

"For the second time in franchise history each player in @RaysBaseball's starting lineup recorded a run and an RBI." 

The last time the Rays did that was against the Seattle Mariners on June 30, 2023, per Adam Berry of MLB.com. 

Here is how the Rays' lineup fared on Monday night: 

• Yandy Diaz: 2-for-4, 2 RBI, 2 runs
• Brandon Lowe: 1-for-4, 2 RBI, 1 run
• Junior Caminero: 2-for-5, 2 RBI, 2 runs
• Jonathan Aranda: 2-for-5, 2 RBI, 2 runs
• Christopher Morel: 3-for-4, 2 RBI, 2 runs
• Kameron Misner: 3-for-4, 3 RBI, 2 runs
• Taylor Walls: 0-for-4, 1 RBI, 2 runs 
• Danny Jansen: 1-for-5, 1 RBI, 1 run
• Jake Magnum: 2-for-3, 1 RBI, 2 runs

Misner hit a pair of home runs, and Diaz made franchise history by hitting leadoff home runs in back-to-back games, so there were a lot of positives for Tampa Bay on Monday. 

The Rays ended the game with 16 runs on 16 hits as the Red Sox dropped the first of the series.
