Pete Alonso Wins Orioles MVP In Unsurprising Landslide

Pete Alonso probably won't win the AL MVP this year, but he's still taking home some hardware.

On Wednesday, the Baltimore Orioles announced that Alonso is the winner of the 2026 Most Valuable Oriole award. He won the award unanimously.

The news comes as no surprise, as Alonso has been one of the best hitters in baseball this year. Entering play on Wednesday, he leads the American League in RBI with 108. He also has 40 home runs. 94 runs and an .869 OPS while leading the Majors with 157 games played.

His heavy hitting single-handedly kept Baltimore's playoff hopes alive for much of the season and gave Orioles fans plenty to cheer for this summer.

Alonso has been a huge success in his first season with Baltimore after signing a five-year, $155 million contract with them last winter. He'll spend the rest of the week trying to end his season on a high note before turning the page to next year.
